HABITS AND ATTITUDE OF RICH AND SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE

HABITS AND ATTITUDES OF SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE

For quite sometime, I have been curious about what makes rich people different from the others. This came about as I have always noted that though anyone can be successful, not everyone is. While writing my article titled “Super Rich School Dropouts”, I decided to do a little research on the habits and attitudes of successful people.

Have you that the Top 5 richest people in the world according to Forbes are all Self-Made and while their  loses change yearly, the top 5 only rotate among themselves.

                                       The Top 5 Richest People

  1.  Bill Gates
  2.  Carlos Slim
  3.  Warren Buffet
  4.  Lawrence Edison
  5.  Ingvar Kampard

They all came from humble beginnings but their vision and determination equaled immense wealth.

Though they may not be the happiest set of people, we can’t but admit they are successful because their vision, dreams, and ambition have become realities.

We all want to be rich successful in life, in terms of money, family wise, emotionally, and in our chosen path in life (careers).

In my little research, I have come to a conclusion that for us to attain our aspirations in life there are some qualities we must possess or cultivate. They are:

1.      Self-Belief: Having faith in oneself is having confidence. When self-confidence is in place, the fear of exploring and the fear of failure will fizzle out.
2.      Realize That Failing Is Just Part Of Life: If you fail now, you can become successful later. Failure means something wasn’t done right, which further means that success lies in doing things right and doing them consistently because no right thinking individual changes a winning routine. I take a cue from  Robert Kiyosaki in the book WHY WE WANT YOU TO BE RICH, he emphasized the need for F.O.C.U.S. which is an acronym for

                       FOLLOW
                      ONE
                      COURSE
                      UNTIL
                      SUCCESSFUL
Try again and again until you get it right.

3.      Dream Big But Be A Realist: Dreams are free and the mind is the ultimate source of creation. There are no limitations in the mind (you can be anything you want to be in your mind) and so know that after dreaming big though you might begin small you are not tied down to remaining small. I quote the book of Job in the Bible, Chapter 8 verse 7; it says “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase”. Also know that at the stage of actualizing a dream, vision or goal, one must draw the line between reality and fantasy.

4.      Vision and Planning: Failing to plan is planning to fail. One should have things that need to be done arranged/listed and followed religiously.

5.      Have A Goal/Target and Work To Make It A Reality: Start up something with the mindset of a positive outcome. Also set the time frame you want to realize the set goal(s) and work in that line

6.      Learn From Others: Arrogance is an enemy of success. Take advice from others with similar achievement and where necessary include them in your plan.

7.      Do Not Stop Learning: One should learn more and more of what has been chosen. Learning should not stop because as long as the world continues to exist, new things will unfold.

8.      Your Wealth Is Not For You Alone: A good look at the likes of Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey and many other wealthy individuals, one would discover that they have foundations set-up to help people. They are sharing their wealth with others. Buffet might not have a foundation of his but he donates to other foundations and organizations. Sharing your wealth is expanding your wealth.

9.      Be Right With Others: As you go along with your life, try to be at peace with all men. Do not intentionally and if you can help it, do not hurt others at all. Always bear in mind that people’s deeds come back to them either positively or negatively. Believe in Karma because “what goes around comes around”.

FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY:

10.  Always Acknowledge ‘THE INVISIBLE HAND’ Behind Everything and Be Thankful At All Times: Yes, Yes, Yes, there is a controlling power in the universe. Ever wondered how that idea got up there (your brain)? The human brain is the most powerful force in the world; the Bible says “as a man thinks in his heart so he is. The also has this to say “You may say to your self ‘my power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me’. But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to make wealth…….” The‘INVISIBLE HAND’ is the God of The Bible.

Be wise do the right thing and success will be yours.
