ANIOCHA NORTH HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY SEAT 2019

*THE MOVERS AND SHAKERS.
*THE EXPECTATIONS

As we approach yet another election year,Aniocha North Local govt,my immediate constituency comes to mind.
Judging from past elections for this position,it is expected that the jostling for the seat in 2019,shall be fiercer than we envisage.

Previous election for Aniocha North seat at the state legislature,has left many contestants bruised and with leaky pockets.
The 2003 scenario with the then majority leader of the state legislature,the 2007 factionalization of the then PDP,vis a viz Obielum faction as manipulatedly enthroned by Hon Ndudi Elumelu,etc are all pointers to the turbulence that surrounds the seat.

As 2019 approaches,several aspirants have yet again indicates interest for the seat,all ate illustrious sons of Aniocha North,grounded youths.

We have :

1)ENGR EMEKA NWAOBI(PDP)

 The present occupier of the seat, albeit in controversy,an indigene of Issele-Uku,an Engineer by profession.
Nwaobi enjoyed maximal support from his home front Issele-Uku in 2015,unfortunately,this support base dwindled as soon as he became House member through a very controversial Election Appeal court judgement in December 2015.
He was unable to manage his fraudulent victory as such that he decided to Lord himself over everyone,his representation has been viewed by unbiased analysts as beclouded in lies,deceit,self serving and misrepresentations.
He has also shown that he lacks the capacity to administer quality leadership to the entire Aniocha North,especially given his sectional disposition to leadership.
Nwaobi at the moment is fighting one of the biggest political battles of his political life,as his party is divided for him,with more than half of the party working against his return,especially the leaders of the party.
Those who stuck their necks to give him support in 2015,have all turned their backs against him now,with several of them admitting that indeed they made a mistake supporting a mandate thief in 2015,against the wish of the people.
His only consolation is the governor's perceived support for him.

1)HON OSI SAMUEL OKOCHA.(APC)

Unarguably the most humble politician in Aniocha North,from Idumuje-Unor,an Engineer,was voted for en-mass by Aniocha Northerners in 2015,sworn in and was well appreciated by Aniocha Northerners for his easy going representation,until he was unceremoniously removed through a controversial judgement of the Appeal court electoral panel six months after.
During his short stay in the House, Aniocha North experienced peace,his  credibility came to play when he used his office to inject so many road projects into the state budget.
Even those who worked against him attested to the fact that he was indeed the best person at the time to have been there.
Hon Osi OKOCHA enjoys very strong grassroot support till date,in fact it is rumoured that PDP agenda for the position is to stop him from aspiring or contesting knowing fully well that an election with him as their opponent is sure defeat for the PDP,on this several leaders of the PDP have had to travel to the US to talk him into coming back to their party to contest or to not contest in 2019.

3)BAZIM SALLY BIOSE.(PDP for now)

An Issele-Uku son,a successful Abuja based Estate management consultant.
At the moment,the cynosure of all eyes in his party,the PDP,he is a fresh and untainted entrant to the political turfs of Aniocha North.
He is also believed to have a very bogus financial war-chest,he is seen to have divided the PDP,with more than half of the party members and leadership,perceived to be giving his aspiration maximal support.
His group and watchers are of the belief that should an Intra party election be held for him and the incumbent in the near future,he will defeat the incumbent flawlessly.

4)GABRIEL EBUBECHUKWU NWAJEI(APC)

A fresher in Aniocha North politics,but has displayed so much zeal to serve.
His first shot was the Local govt election held in January 2018,but unfortunately,he was unable to go beyond the primary stage in his party,APC.
Not deterred,he gave his all to support the candidate who displaced him in the battle for the party ticket,Dr Goodnews Odozi,his tenacity towards the success of Dr Odozi and indeed all the councillorship candidates in that election,was what endeared many people to him.
However,many view him as not very conversant/familiar with the LGA,a disadvantage believed to work against him.
He is also rumoured to house a strong financial war-chest.

5)MARTIN NNABUNDO CHINYE(APC)

A security expert,from Onicha-Ugbo,who started to nurse this ambition to represent the people of Aniocha North since 2003,but because perhaps,he isn't a desperate kind of politician,has not been able to garner victory.
Smooth talker,friendly and accommodating politician.

6)BOLUM OKWUCHI(PDP)

He is from Onicha-Ugbo,he has politically served,enough for him to understand grassroot politics well,especially Intra party politicking.
He is rumoured to be the joker of the Nkem Okwuofu group in the PDP,should their support for Bazim fail to produce desired result.
BOLUM,popularly known and called “Bolus” or “Bolitical” is a smooth operator,a go getter,highly connected,havong worked in the National Assembly under Hon Ndudi Elumelu.

While we examine them all,it is imperative to understand that they are all sons of Aniocha North,and also that they have all professed live for the LGA.
As 2019 draws nearer,let the people decide whom they most prefer to man the seat of the constituency at the House of Assembly in Asaba.

Many political watchers are of the believe that the 2019 HOA election might just as well be termed to be a repeat of the 2015 political battle between Hon Osi Okocha and Engr Emeka Nwaobi.
