The presidential aspirant of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) also commends the resilience of young Nigerians on the journey so far and further urges all to keep faith in the Better Nigeria Project.

"I salute Nigerians home and abroad on the occasion of our 59th Independence Anniversary. The journey thus far has been interesting with great lessons from the good, bad and ugly times we have been through together as a nation, and very visibly the hand of the Almighty God has been clearly active in our affairs.
In the events of our journey into 59 years, we can't mistake the impact of young people in the crystalization of our nationhood and so very much aware are we, of the potential that young, spirited Nigerians hold within themselves.

Therefore as we advance in maturity as one nation, we are indebted to ensuring that collective efforts, progressive ideals together with sustained and improved youths integration into leadership of our society are made manifest.

In the face of our challenges, we must not forget to count our blessings, celebrate our successes no matter the measure and continually advocate for stronger social institutions. It is against this backdrop that the Better Niger Project can more easily be actualized.
Happy Independence Day".
