Delta Council Elections Update: DSIEC screens Ekene Asiagwu Henry, Simeon Boi, Emmanuel Oweazim jnr, Others Ahead Of March 6.





The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission DSIEC has successfully screened more candidates ahead of the March 6th Council Polls.

The screening exercise which began on Monday, 11th January 2021, continues through Thursday, with prominent candidates going through the screening successfully.

Round-Town views visited DSIEC headquarters in Wednesday, 13th January 2021, to witness the exercise and gathered that those screened to at day include Hon Ekene Asiagwu Henry, All Progressives Congress APC Candidate for Aniocha North LGA, Simeon Boi; Candidate for Ika South LGA, Felix Illomechine Aniocha South.
Others include Comrade Chi Oweazim, Mrs Delight, etc.

In a brief chat with Round-Town Views, Hon Ekene Asiagwu Henry who is the only APC Councillor in the state, as well as the Aniocha North LGA chairmanship candidate expressed his satisfaction with the process.
The soft-spoken gentleman when asked about the process simply stated "the process went fine. "

Also speaking with Round-Town views, Comrade Emmanuel Oweazim APC candidate for Onicha-Olona thanked God for his successful screening. He expressed his readiness to contest and win again, provided the process was free fair and credible. He therefore called in DSIEC to be an unbiased umpire during the electoral process.

The exercise is billed to end km Friday January 15 2021.

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS DORIS UBOH AS REF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY.

  Honourable Doris Olayemi Uboh MNSE has been appointed as the substantive Rural Electrification Fund Executive Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.   The appointment, effective from January 23, 2025, is for an initial term of four years.   Honourable Uboh, a former member of the House Of Representatives, has been acting as the executive director Rural Electrification Fund ( ED REF) since March 2024 and will now settle into her role following her substantive appointment.   Doris Uboh is a New York-trained Electrical Engineer with years of working experience in the industry.  She was a member of House of Representatives, where she represented Ika Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011.
