DELTA LG POLLS: APC ACCUSES PDP OF PLOT TO STEAL MANDATES

Ahead of the March 6th local council elections in Delta state, the Aniocha South Chapter of the opposition All Progressives Congress APC has accused the PDP of plotting to announce the names of their candidates irrespective of the actual votes cast in the council area.

The Director General of Sir Felix Ilomechine Campaign Organisation FICO, the campaign organisation of the APC Chairmanship candidate in Aniocha South, Hon. Fred Mordi stated this in Ogwashi Uku while fielding questions from newsmen after an enlarged stakeholders meeting of the party.

He noted that it has become clear that PDP in the state has lost its goodwill especially in Aniocha South as was evident in the rejection of the party in all its heavily money induced rallies in the locality.

He said "If you followed their campaigns, you will agree that the ordinary residents who are the ordinary voters who are non politically aligned totally refused to come out and embrace their rallies. All we saw was the PDP party leaders campaigning to PDP mobilised members as if they are going for their intra party congresses".

Hon. Mordi maintained that the jamboree they expended Aniocha South tax payers' money on was only a political gimmick planned as a cover to deceive the deceive the people as their main strategy revolves around nothing outside imposition of their party candidates in replica of how the PDP Chairmanship candidate was imposed".

The former Special Assistant to the immediate past Governor of the state, Emmanuel Uduaghan who since decamped to the APC stressed that having seen the tremendous support the people are giving to the APC's candidate, Felix Ilomechine who has toured all the wards of the LGA, the PDP is in panic mode thereby resorting to outright imposition to escape the impending defeat.

"Although we have received this intelligence report, we will warn them to drop that plot that will be massively resisted. As a ruling party, they should test their strength and popularity by competing with us in a free and fair elections and kiss defeat.

Meanwhile, the people of Ashama community in the same LGA has vowed to cast their votes massively for the APC come March 6th.

The people of the community took the stand after the campaign train of the party berthed in the community in continuation of its ward to ward campaign.

They said their decision was on two grounds which is that the APC candidate is a son of the community and  secondly for his track record of unequalled efforts to attract development to the community.

They warned the PDP rigging machinery to stay clear of the community as they will protect their votes and ensure that their votes count.
