APC OSHIMILI SOUTH HOLDS ALL- ENCOMPASSING STAKEHOLDERS MEETING

....as scores of former PDP members attend their first APC meeting 

Following the end of the All Progressives Congress party's registration and revalidation exercise, the party in Oshimili South held an all-encompassing stakeholders meeting yesterday at the residence of the foremost leader in the Local Government Area, Chief Dr. Leroy Edozien (Ubili ka nkwu Ahaba). 

The meeting which was first of its kind in recent history in the area was well-attended with party members (old / new) numbering over 500 in attendance, cutting across previous divides. 

In his welcome address the Oshimili South Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ogbueshi Ndudi Umunna, who was overwhelmed with the turnout of  members from all divides, said hilariously "this is the end of tendency in Oshimili South, with these men and women of timber and calibre, iroko and mahogany present here today". He enjoined all to work together for the success of the party in the next elections. 

In his speech, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka who led a large chunk of new entrants into APC said they decided to join APC for the growth of Oshimili South Local Government Area and Delta State in general. He said as a former staunch member of PDP, he had seen it all and knows that the party (PDP) no longer has ideas on governance and the delivery of goods to the people of the state. He pledged unalloyed support to the political agenda of HE Senator (Barr.) Ovie Omo-Agege, the Deputy Senate President, Nigeria. 

Also speaking at the meeting, Chief Dr Leroy Edozien, welcomed all members both old and new into the party and expressed delight that the vision he had long ago is becoming reality now. He stressed that the party is going somewhere, and that is taking over  Delta State in 2023. He congratulated Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka for his appointment into the board of the National Commission for Senior Secondary Education (NSSEC) and thanked the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, for facilitating the appointment. He urged others to be patient, that appointments and goodies are on the way. 

To buttress the unity now existing in the Local Government, Ogbueshi Engr. Eugene Umunna, who had hitherto challenged the candidature of Engr Chike Juluga as the APC Oshimili South Chairmanship candidate in the last Local Government election, came to the meeting with his supporters and pledged his loyalty to the Party structure. He said interalia: "I was misled and now have seen the light, and have no option than to follow the light".

Dignitaries who attended the meeting include Ogbueshi Ndudi Umunna CTC Chairman and his wife Mrs P.N. Umunna, Comrade Dumebi Njokanma (Secretary CTC), Chief Eze Onyebashi (Uwolo Ahaba), Obi Philip Ibonye, Ogbueshi ((Wing Cmdr.) Peter Iweze rtd., Ogbueshi Ibe Isichei, Ogbueshi (Capt) Chike Ogbolu and Ogbueshi Iweanya Attoh.

Others are Ogbueshi (Engr.) Eugene Umunna, Ogbueshi Ike Gwam, Ogbueshi Moses Asindi, Ogbueshi Roy Elikwu, Mrs Amaka Akpofure , Mrs Margaret Nkiruka Olugboja and Mrs Franca Anigbogu. Also in attendance were Engr. Chike Juluga, Mr Anselm Onianwa, all the executive members of the Local Caretaker Committee, all Ward Caretaker Committee Chairmen and excos and leaders of the Ebira and Adamawa Communities in the LGA.
