PRESS RELEASE

AYF-W SENDS REMINDERS TO LAWMAKERS

The Anioma Youth Forum Worldwide, being the umbrella body of and for all Anioma youths irrespective of partisan divides, is committed to good governance and effective representation for our people aimed at fast tracking human capital development.

Consequent upon this, on the 24th day of January 2021, this noble, responsive and responsible group held a press conference calling on our Representatives at both the National and state assembly on the need to engage their various constituents in line with international best practices on their representations.

To us, this idea will not only give the people a first hand information of their achievements but also present to their representatives the various pressing needs that requires immediate attention of governments.

However, six months after the call and the expiration of the ultimatum, our Representatives have all recklessly ignored this noble call. To us, this is unacceptable.

This flagrant disrespect and nonchalant behaviour towards their constituents by our Lawmakers notwithstanding, as a responsible group that AYF-W prides itself, following the receipt and acknowledgement of a reminder sent to them, we hereby demand again that this simple request of Ndi Anioma will be respected and acted upon as refusal or failure to do so will leave us with no other option than to approach the law courts for legal action.

This press statement hereby serves as a notice.

In same token, we will use this opportunity to congratulate the 9 LGA Chairmen in Delta North (Anioma) following their inaugurations as Chief Executives of the councils. May we remind them that the need to keep an eye on their stewardship is sacrosanct as we expect them to take advantage of the push for the local government autonomy and transform their council areas and avoid the lust for primitive accumulation of wealth and power as the Local government chapters of AYF-W have been empowered to partner with them seamlessly but at same time be prepared to confront squarely any sign of failure, looting and maladministration.

*Anioma Youths Forum Worldwide (AYF-W)*, will continue to remain the voice of Anioma youths regardless of whose ox is gored and will not hesitate to ask relevant questions about the quality of representation of all Anioma Leaders at all levels of administrative governance both in public and private sector to ensure that Anioma gets her own fair share in the scheme of things and expedite the growth and development of Anioma land and her people.

Signed:
Ekwukwo Elvis
National Publicity Secretary
