Tinubu, Agege, APC Will Triumph, Despite Difficulties. – DR RUFUS EBEGBA.
Olorogun (Dr) Rufus Ebegba KSJ, is the Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), and an APC Chieftain from Evwreni Community, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Over the past month, he has been deeply involved in campaigning for the party, especially at the Governorship level.
He’s in Delta State ahead of the Presidential Elections, and he spoke to newsmen briefly.
Question: From your last visit to Delta State, how would you speak of the Chances of The APC in the coming elections?
Dr Ebegba:
Between my last visit and now, the evidence of a hardworking party structure is very evident, because the effects of our campaigns are now being observed.
The APC is gathering more acceptability and its candidates from the Presidential, Governorship to the House of Assembly, are now more confident of victory.
The people clearly accept our message of change in Delta State and we still have popular support from the voting majority at the Federal level.
Question: Recently, you and other influential Nigerians visited the APC PCC, what new result is that expected to bring?
Dr Ebegba:
I belong to a group of patriots who are partisan and deeply involved in campaigning for good governance and continuity.
The APC Renaissance Team Nigeria For Tinubu/ Shettima (ART), is one of the Complimentary Campaign Councils and we paid a courtesy visit to the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).
I spoke on behalf of the group and its co-convener , Senator Ita Solomon Enang, and briefed the Council on our activities towards ensuring victory for APC at the 2023 elections.
We are not just partisan patriots, we are amongst the best to have served the country at different levels, who understand the country and are totally convinced that the Presidential Candidate of APC Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the best to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR.
The outcome is concentrated canvassing for BATSHET till February 25th 2023, which we already kickstarted.
Around the federal capital and in North Central states, we have adverts on commercial buses to campaign for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are doing more daily.
Question: Will The Naira Scarcity Weaken The Chances Of The APC At The Elections?
Dr Ebegba:
The Naira Scarcity is an unfortunate reality, especially when you consider the amount of suffering being recorded by Nigerians across age, social status and gender.
The policy is a great initiative, but the implementation by CBN seems to have been less proactive, which is what has mainly contributed to the frustrations and ill feelings being seen.
Orientation and conscientious activities were not properly done by CBN, therefore people were not prepared.
The illicit actions of bankers in the private sector is also a problem that we must tackle as a people. This is not an APC problem, but a social problem.
This means that even when government has a good idea, the sloppiness of Nigerians like you and me, in executing it may still lead to failure. We must task ourselves to be more diligent and patriotic.
Will APC’s Perceived Low Performance Negatively Affect Tinubu?
Dr Ebegba:
Those who say the APC Performed low are not being sincere and can’t remember what the country looked like before the party came on board.
The level of foreign reserves were low, we couldn’t pay salaries without borrowing money.
States owed, Local Governments owed, Primary school teachers were owed and schools were shut. Insecurity was everywhere in the North East.
Today, the story is different and after 8years our military is stronger and more incentives follow.
We have better electoral systems, stronger laws, functional railway infrastructure, increased minimum wage, improved agriculture and a more competitive economy.
Like I always say, no government can do all things, but when there is progress it can’t be hidden.
President Muhammadu Buhari has done very well.
Question: Who will win Delta State Gubernatorial Election?
Dr Ebegba :
Without a doubt, APC will take over Delta state.
The people have warm up to the consciousness of bad leadership and deserve better.
The present PDP leadership has thrown the state in to reckless and unnecessary debts, and sustaining the party in the state is no longer fashionable.
Also the controversy that trails the Gubernatorial Candidate is very embarrassing and such people should not be in government.
As a Federal Appointee, I’m aware of the PMB interventions to the state, through releave, grants and schemes from the FG. Yet these things aren’t visible in the state.
We need an individual like Senator Omo-Agege for better development in the state.
Senator Omo-Agege has shown capacity, preparedness and has the popularity to upstage the PDP and given his performance, we can say that he will do well.
Question: Advice For Nigerians and Party Members.
My advice to them is that they should keep faith with APC and not be moved by the temporary hardship we suffer because of positive reforms.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege will ease the pains suffered, hence they should be voted as President and Governor respectively.
For instance, at the last ward meeting I hosted, I celebrated and inspired a joyful mood as party members met. I urged them to not be dissuaded by fake news and lies from PDP, we are going to emerge victorious.
Thank you sir.
Dr Ebegba:
You're welcome and God bless you.
