WORKSHOP: EBEGBA HEADLINES AFRICABP 2024

Founder/Chairman of the Rufus Ebegba Centre for Leadership And Environmental Sustainability and Immediate-past Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), Olorogun Dr Rufus Ebegba KSJ has been chosen to headline the 2024 African Biogenome Project (AFRICABP) Open Institute For Genomic And Bioinformatics West Africa Workshop, scheduled to hold in June.

Olorogun Dr Rufus Ebegba KSJ, Immediate-past Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA).

In a statement released by Rufus Ebegba Media Office, the workshop which is an outcome of collaboration between Africa Biogenomic Project and the Science For Africa Foundation, is themed "Driving West African Bioeconomy Through Biodiversity Genomics" and will be taking place at the University Of Porthacourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, between the 6th - 10th of May 2024.

Dr Rufus Ebegba KSJ is reputed/credited with making huge advancements in Biosafety, Biosecurity, Environmental and Agricultural Technology during his 8 year leadership of the National Biosafety Management Agency, beginning from 2015.

He is to speak on the title "The Nigerian Biodiversity Conservation And Biosafety Consideration For A Purposeful And Inclusive Biodiversity Endeavours".

The workshop will be also be transmitted virtually and is supported by University of Porthacourt, Illumina, Pacbio, MGI, ACEGID and other multinational organisations.

Iwaji: Gabriel Ogbechie, Jossy Honnah Pay Homage, As Obi Justin Chukwunonso Nwoko Fetes Idumuje-Ugboko.

The Group Managing Director of Rainoil Limited Dr Gabriel Ogbechie, and Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State (Office of the SSG) Sir Jossy Honnah were amongst the roll call of indigenes of Idumuje-Ugboko and guests who visited the Royal Palace to pay homage and celebrate with HRM Obi Justin Chukwunonso Nwoko, as he commemorated the 2025 Iwaji (New Yam Festival) on Friday, the 26th of September.  Speaking during his presentation to the Monarch, the Group Managing Director of Rainoil Limited Dr Gabriel Ogbechie who was visibly excited to be part of the celebrations expressed his deference and honour for the king, saluting him for his soft and gentle approach to leadership. PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS DORIS UBOH AS REF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY.

  Honourable Doris Olayemi Uboh MNSE has been appointed as the substantive Rural Electrification Fund Executive Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.   The appointment, effective from January 23, 2025, is for an initial term of four years.   Honourable Uboh, a former member of the House Of Representatives, has been acting as the executive director Rural Electrification Fund ( ED REF) since March 2024 and will now settle into her role following her substantive appointment.   Doris Uboh is a New York-trained Electrical Engineer with years of working experience in the industry.  She was a member of House of Representatives, where she represented Ika Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011.
