Daniels Iwuanya Obi-Okolie: A Man’s Enduring Love For His People.



The year 2023 will be counted as the year when the pro-people mindset and success trajectory of Barr Daniels Iwuanya Obi-Okolie was emphatically on display, contributing nicely to the story of a typical Son of (the Soil) Egbudu-Akah Community, who helps his roots and origin avant-garde.
Typical as asserted, Daniels Iwuanya Obi-Okolie is that homeboy or the guy who grew next door, under humble and modest instances, but through sheer determination, courage and Faith in God, ventured into the world of the unknown, aiming to return victorious and at a vantage position to render succour and inspiration to the peace loving people of Egbudu-Akah, Aniocha South LGA Of Delta State.

The verdict of success attached to his name, is reasoned from the perspective of his present-day antecedents and achievements in both personal, corporate and social instances, where he has been able to exemplify the life of professional, philanthropist, social worker and patriot.

Daniels Iwuanya Obi-Okolie had his elementary education at Illoh Primary School, and attended Egbudu Mixed Secondary School both in Egbudu-Akah Community.

His first tertiary education experience was at the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, where he obtained an OND in Estate Management, after which he had his IT in Lagos before enrolling at Yaba College of Technology, for his Higher National Diploma Certificate.

He subsequently became Certified as an Associate with the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, working briefly with Haddoch Properties Ikeja, Lagos, before leaving Nigeria for Australia, first in 2000, and finally in 2005.

He further obtained a Bachelors Degree in Law from the prestigious Charles Darwin University, while his Law School and Masters Degree were done at the Australian National University, Cumbria.

He is a member of the Bar of New South Wales, Sydney Australia.

The story of Daniels Iwuanya Obi-Okolie, a brother, friend and benefactor to many, resonates with they never-say-die spirit associated with men of Anioma Heritage, and fortuitously, he attained success and acclaim away from home, ensuring the creation of the Daniels Grassroots Development Initiative(DGDI), a platform founded 7 years ago, being used to reachout to youths, widows and the less privileged in Egbudu-Akah Community, and beyond.

The NGO has embarked on Social development projects and community outreach on the basis of helping to facilitate employment opportunities, assist indigent students via the payment of School Fees and examination fees, providing grants to support positive initiatives, etc.


Beyond the rhetoric of a good P.R Job, the Philanthropic nature of Barr Daniels Iwuanya Obi-Okolie through his DGDI was emphatic at the just concluded yuletide celebrations, where hundreds of Egbudu-Akah citizens were beneficiaries, with smiles, cheers, prayers and dancing.

From Widows, to market women, artisans, Youths and students, Barr Daniels Iwuanya Obi-Okolie made the Christmas and New Year Celebrations a memorable one, as his DGDI distributed food items, welfare materials, cash and carried out strategic projects to improve social conditions of the people.

The contributions of well meaning individuals to community development is the necessary added spice needed to compliment the effort of the government towards good administration. In this regard, commendation must be given to Barr Daniels Iwuanya Obi-Okolie and his DGDI for palliative measures to the Ekuku-Agbor – Egbudu-Akah road. The road was graded for the service of commuters/visitors in consideration of the Yuletide Season, serving the purpose of easier commuting.

Youths of Egbudu-Akah Community were out left out, as the Daniels Grassroots Development Initiative sponsored and organised a football tournament where soccer talents were on display, bringing youths together in an atmosphere that celebrated the bonds of brotherhood and kinship.
Barr Daniels Iwuanya Obi-Okolie from records available, is softly but consistently writing a chapter of impacts on the sands of time, offering himself and voting his resources towards the development of human and social capital, ultimately his name is very much deserving of note.

Iwaji: Gabriel Ogbechie, Jossy Honnah Pay Homage, As Obi Justin Chukwunonso Nwoko Fetes Idumuje-Ugboko.

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS DORIS UBOH AS REF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY.

  Honourable Doris Olayemi Uboh MNSE has been appointed as the substantive Rural Electrification Fund Executive Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.   The appointment, effective from January 23, 2025, is for an initial term of four years.   Honourable Uboh, a former member of the House Of Representatives, has been acting as the executive director Rural Electrification Fund ( ED REF) since March 2024 and will now settle into her role following her substantive appointment.   Doris Uboh is a New York-trained Electrical Engineer with years of working experience in the industry.  She was a member of House of Representatives, where she represented Ika Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011.
