SUPREME COURT: TATABUZOGWU, AGBOMA, HERO, ASIWE, LEAD IKA PDP IN CELEBRATION OF GOV SHERIFF'S VICTORY.



Supporters, faithful and leaders of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika Federal Constituency have been in a celebratory over the Supreme Court Verdict which dismissed the Appeal of the All Progressives Congress and its candidate Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for lack of merit, and affirmed the election of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori JP, as the duly elected Governor of Delta State.

The APC and its candidate Ovie Omo-Agege had approached the Supreme Court seeking redress for their appeal, which was earlier dismissed by the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, and the Court of Appeal in Lagos. The Supreme Court in its ruling, agreed with the lower courts, insisting that the petitioner (appellant) failed to prove claims of malpractice.

 

From the Ika North East Local Government Council headquarters, to the streets of Agbor, Owa and environs, leaders of the PDP in Ika Land led Party members on a roadshow to celebrate the victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, amidst pomp and fanfare, crisscrossing and painting the town in colours of the PDP.

Roundtown Media which was on ground to capture the events, interacted with the people to get a clear picture of the display of emotions. In separate interviews, Party leaders expressed their satisfaction at the verdict, insisting that the oppositions in the state were not on ground.

 

Sheriff Truly Won, lt Is Time To Move The State Forward – Ika South LGA Boss.

According to Hon Sunny Tatabuzogwu Chairman of Ika South Local Government Council, Delta State voted en-mass for  the PDP state at the 2023 Governorship election.

He said “Delta State voted for PDP at the 2023 governorship election and the Supreme Court Verdict just confirmed what we have been saying all along. The Governorship election in the state was one of the best, free and fair, and this verdict will give our Governor the opportunity to now plan better for the state in the next three years.

“We must now begin to mobilize the state and nation for PDP, as the party that can move the country forward,” he added.

 

We Are Happy With The Verdict,  We Expected It – Ika North East PDP Chairman

On the part of Chief Chuks Agboma, Chairman of PDP in Ika North East, it is the fulfilment of anticipated joy. “ Personally, I am not surprised because I know that Delta State is a PDP state. Without mincing words, when the election took place majority of the votes were casted for PDP, and that is because Delta State believes in PDP.

“ Our gathering here today is based on the Supreme Court Judgment, which is splendid. If you ask me, I’d say its not new, because we all know APC won only 4 Local Government Areas in the state out of 25, the Supreme Court did very well and have kept the name of the Judiciary.

“ The victory is a plus to us in the Local Government, because it means the More Agenda has come to stay. The More Agenda is a continuation of where the previous administration stopped,  and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa did very well. Governor Sheriff pledged to continue the work and as you can see, a lot of  road projects are ongoing across the state, and other things. That is the More Agenda and it is a plus to us., he said.

 

Governor Sheriff Is Our Own, Agege Should Know That Justice Is Not For Sale – ‘Gen’ Emeka Asiwe

Party Strongman and leader in Ika North East, Comrade Emeka Asiwe spoke strongly about the victory. He said “ Governor Sheriff is our own, and we are here to celebrate him. For me the opposition was on an exercise in futility. We all were here for the election and we knew the outcome of the election”.

“ You can’t stay at home, stay in Abuja, not coming home, not contesting for your ticket, not liaising with the people, having no relationship with the people and then you come, and when election comes, you want to bulldoze the people to vote for you? And when it turns wrong for you, you run to court, thinking you can purchase justice?

“ In the new Nigeria we are having today, these things are no longer feasible. We thank God for the Judiciary and give kudos to them.

 

Speaking on behalf of Ika Chiefs, Chief Oni Agbogbu said “ I’m not surprised because I know he won that election and he deserved it. He is a good man and God has delivered us today.

“ We are happy and we are here today to thank God for his kindness. My simple advice is for him to hold on to God, and continue to do what he is doing.

 

The celebrations pitched when the happy train settled at Ogbemudein School premises for laughs and cheerfulness bants, with more party leaders expressing their joy and satisfaction.

 

Hon Umeri Celestine,  Political Aide to the “ on behalf of the youths, I want to say a very big thank congratulations to my boss Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori JP, we are happy with the verdict. The youths of Delta and the youths of Ika Land congratulate him. We are happy and want him to continue to work with the youths like he has  been doing.

The tricycle and motorbike commercial  riders association of the Federal Constituency also turned up their support and happiness.


Speaking with Roundtown Media, Comrade Adjogbe Isaac and Comrade Ewere Nze (aka) Skylar General of the Ika North East and Ika South chapter’s said the association was happy with the judgment, and they turned up to celebrate it.

“ It is a wonderful one and we are truly very happy. It has put to an end all election litigations, and on behalf of all tricycle riders, I am congratulating the Governor. The victory is not just for him and PDP, it also for us and we want him to work with us more and more”.

Comrade Skylar General of Ika South Said “ We have been expecting and hoping for the victory long before now, and we can see that he is doing well with the More Agenda.

Gov Sheriff Is The Rjght Person, We Thank The Judiciary - Comrade Victor Onyeisi.

Full of smiles, PDP Youth Leader in Ika North East Comrade Victor Onyeisi had this to say “ I am smiling because today is a great day. It is a day of victory because the Judiciary has now confirmed the election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

It is well deserved because 90% of Deltans voted for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. We have been waiting for this confirmation from the Supreme Court, and we are happy that they have strengthened our heart. They have shown that the citizens can still rely on them, we are grateful and ad you can see, everyone is jubilating. We are happy and from his development of the state, he is the right person. He should continue, and work with more youths, because the Job ahead is for the youths.

 

Comrade Ann Morka popular Party female youth mobilizer expressed her joy, she said “ My heart is filled with joy, for the victory of our amiable Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. Female youths in Ika South are happy because a victory for Governor Sheriff is a victory for all Deltans, and we are included.
