By Ikechukwu Chukwudi-Abiandu, (Roundtown Media).
Thanks to Mr Frank Ndubuisi Onyemem, indigenes of Onicha-Olona from across the six quarters that make up the community, namely Ogbe-Obi, Umuolo, Ishiekpe, Idumuje, Ogbekenu, and Agba, were treated to a shocking but pleasantly surprising empowerment event that left the people with shouts of excitement, tears of joy, memories that will last a lifetime and a story that will be told for years to come.
Frank Ndubuisi Onyemem is a youth, husband, father and humble businessman who prefers to live a quietly organised life where his family life and professional affairs are kept nevertheless, the events of the 26th of December 2024, expose a deep-rooted soft spot for his origins, the less privileged and downtrodden.
According to sources, some of who are close relatives, childhood friends, associates and admirers, Ndubuisi as he is fondly referred to, has always exemplified an easy-going personality, whose devotion to family and faith had never been in doubt. Hence when the Onicha-Olona Empowerment Project was announced, many knew that it was from a genuine and brotherly heart.
Mr Frank Ndubuisi Onyemem considers his success in life a direct sacrifice of his mother through her patience, unwavering love, consistent support and commitment to her children, even at the detriment of her desires.
According to him, nothing has impacted him more than his mother’s teachings of hardwork, diligence, charity and a willingness share ourselves with society.
The outcome of those lessons was visible for the world to see and for privileged beneficiaries who received various items ranging from Cargo-Tricycles tricycles, Motorcycles, Cassava Pounding Machines, Grinders and Sewing Machines estimated at over 200million Naira.
For the beneficiaries, these items have long been desired, with little to no hope of acquisition. However, the 26th of December left their needs met, with a new means of livelihood and sustainability.
The ripple effect of appreciation further drew commendation from eminent personalities present including Hon Emma Bazim Chinye Chairman Aniocha North Local Government Council, Major General Raymond Ochei, Sir Patrick Ejidoh, Sir Chika Chiejina, Amb Ebenezer Nsaka, and many others, including members of the press, who affirmed being inspired to contribute more to society’s growth.
