The recent passage of the bill for the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture, Ute-Okpu, at the Senate has brought unprecedented joy and jubilation, not just to the people of Ute-Okpu, but to the entire Ika Nation and Delta State at large. This historic moment marks a transformational leap in educational development and positions Ute-Okpu for a future of global relevance.

At the heart of this landmark achievement is the relentless commitment of Sir Dr. Chamberlain Dunkwu, the Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative and Members’ Affairs) to the Speaker of the House of Representatives. A true son of the soil, Dr. Dunkwu has once again proven himself a worthy ambassador of Ika Nation, a de-tribalized Nigerian, and a man of humility and vision.

Through this singular act facilitated with finesse at the National Assembly, Dr. Dunkwu has surpassed every known political figure, past or present, from Ute-Okpu, in terms of legacy and impact. His unshakeable faith, as a Knight of Saint Christopher, has always guided his steps. Despite distractions and opposition, he remains focused, smiling, and determined to deliver lasting change to his people.

As the soon-to-be-established Federal University of Agriculture prepares to open its doors, with over twelve faculties planned, the people of Ute-Okpu are ready. Our hospitality is legendary, our optimism renewed, and our belief in the future unshaken.

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS DORIS UBOH AS REF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY.

  Honourable Doris Olayemi Uboh MNSE has been appointed as the substantive Rural Electrification Fund Executive Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.   The appointment, effective from January 23, 2025, is for an initial term of four years.   Honourable Uboh, a former member of the House Of Representatives, has been acting as the executive director Rural Electrification Fund ( ED REF) since March 2024 and will now settle into her role following her substantive appointment.   Doris Uboh is a New York-trained Electrical Engineer with years of working experience in the industry.  She was a member of House of Representatives, where she represented Ika Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011. Cholera Outbreak in Patani LGA, Tragedy Strikes Odorubu and Adobu Communities

A devastating cholera outbreak has struck the Patani Local Government Area of Delta State, leading to heartbreaking losses and numerous hospitalizations in the Odorubu and Adubu communities. The outbreak, which emerged unexpectedly last week, has spread like wildfire, causing fear and sorrow among residents of these close-knit communities.  Mr. Gabriel Inikoru, the chairman of Odorubu, expressed the shock and anguish felt by the community as they grappled with the suddenness of this crisis. Just as they were preparing to work with local health authorities to inform and protect their residents, they found themselves facing the tragic reality of lives lost and many others fighting for their health in hospitals.
