" Anioma State Will Indicate The Maturity Of Our Federalism And Democracy " - HON. OSI OKOCHA.

A former member of the Delta State House of Assembly and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, Hon Osi Samuel Okocha has given reasons why the creation of Anioma State should be supported, explaining that the determination of the issue was long overdue and would show a deepened practice of our federalism in the country.

In a statement released to newsmen from his base in the United States, Osi Okocha, while reacting to the efforts being made towards the actualization of the agitation, explained that the upcoming public hearing provides the perfect basis for the a final resolution of all issues.

According to Hon Okocha, " The discussion on the creation of Anioma State is an interesting one, and its translation from an advocacy into a constitutional affair is an indication of progress, and shows the commitment from the Senator Representing Delta North Senatorial District Senator Ned Nwoko.

" The creation of Anioma State is not just about our people alone. It is also a development that will confirm our growth as a nation. As a young man growing up in Nigeria back in the day, I remember that efforts were made for the Anioma State's creation to be actualized, and unfortunately, a lot of issues made it difficult."

Speaking further, the former Aniocha North Constituency representative called on concerted efforts from all interest groups, political leaders, and opinion leaders towards an engaging public hearing, insisting that the event held a lot of hope and potential for the advocacy.

" This public hearing slated for early July 2025 is an opportunity to reconcile all diverse views and opinions surrounding the creation of Anioma state, and it calls for the attention of all leaders and stakeholders.

" The advocacy should not be seen as Senator Ned's project alone because it is a matter that is close to the heart of every Anioma son and daughter. Nevertheless, Senator Ned Nwoko has shown true patriotism and social awareness in his approach, consistency, and focus towards the goal.

" As a former legislator, I know how hard it is to carry people along in matters of this nature due to the political undertones and perception in some quarters. However, what Senator Ned is doing in the National Assembly is unprecedented.

" He has opened our eyes to the fact that although it will not be easy, it is yet a possibility, and this is enough inspiration for us.
Those who are worried, cautious, and disbelieving of Anioma State creation advocacy can see the progress being made, and are expected to come out of such negativity to massively support the Senator's efforts, because at some point, we must prioritize development and progress, above personal, or political interests," Hon Osi Okocha concluded.
