BEHIND, BESIDE AND WITHIN: TRIBUTES TO DR GODREY OGBECHIE AT 60.

"Behind every successful man, there is a woman" is a popular saying that implies the woman's supportive, behind-the-scenes role in a marriage setup. 

"Beside every great man is a great woman" is a variation connected to Gordon Tredgold, who opined that the woman stands alongside, not just behind, a successful man.

Gordon Tredgold's perspective complements the story of Dr Godrey Ogbechie, and as we join friends, family and the Nigerian Corporate sector in celebrating and commemorating the 60th Birthday Anniversary of a great woman, leader and role model to hundreds of young females across the country and beyond, I seize this opportunity to express sincere appreciation to a woman whose heavenly endowment of love, and a selfless disposition to life, provides the stabilising force which has greatly complemented the rise of my leader and political benefactor Dr Gabriel Ogbechie Group Managing Director of Rainoil Limited.

For those of us blessed with a relationship with the Gabriel Ogbechie family, the capacity and efficiency of Dr Godery Ogbechie continues to amaze, owing to her quiet, calm and calculated leanings. However, a peek into her cabinet of laurels, accomplishments and accolades proves her as a core professional, captain of Industry and a rallying point for women in the corporate world and beyond.

The 20th of September 2025 comes with the brightness of new beginnings, and offers a moment to render thanks and appreciation to God Almighty for the life of Dr Godery Ogbechie, a woman who has touched not just the fabric of the corporate world, but has continued to prove her mettle as a corporate professional and an expert in the Oil and Gas sector.

Her involvement in various  Energy projects, oil and gas ventures and social endeavours, gives her away as an individual with a contagious but healthy and ideal work ethic, but it is her ability to efficiently manage her home, that earns her the superwoman status, which many in the younger generation would find advantageous to have.

Words will not be enough to communicate my deepest respect, and no amount of dancing would adequately communicate my sincere happiness at Dr (Mrs) Godrey Ogbechie clocking 60 glorious years on earth, thus I add sincere wishes of good health, greater success and a satisfactory family life.

Happy Birthday Ma, May God Almighty in his infinite grace and love, continue to create moments of joy and rejoicing all the days of your life.

PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS DORIS UBOH AS REF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE RURAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENCY.

  Honourable Doris Olayemi Uboh MNSE has been appointed as the substantive Rural Electrification Fund Executive Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.   The appointment, effective from January 23, 2025, is for an initial term of four years.   Honourable Uboh, a former member of the House Of Representatives, has been acting as the executive director Rural Electrification Fund ( ED REF) since March 2024 and will now settle into her role following her substantive appointment.   Doris Uboh is a New York-trained Electrical Engineer with years of working experience in the industry.  She was a member of House of Representatives, where she represented Ika Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011. The National woman leader of the All Progressives Congress Dr Mrs Mary Alile Idele has called for more sensitisation from the government and stakeholders, as discussions centred on the Reserved Seats for Women in the National Assembly.
