Sir Jossy Honnah Urges Unity and Patriotism in Independence Day Message

As Nigeria celebrates her 65th Independence Anniversary, Sir Jossy Honnah, Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State, has extended his heartfelt greetings to all Nigerians while calling for deeper commitment to patriotism, unity, and national development.

Sir Jossy noted that Independence Day is not only a time for celebration but also for sober reflection on the nation’s journey so far, the sacrifices of the founding fathers, and the collective responsibility of citizens in shaping a greater future.

“On this day, may our hearts be renewed towards patriotism, unity, and love for our fatherland,” he stated.

He further urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in supporting good governance, promoting peace, and working together across all divides to strengthen the pillars of democracy and development.

The Executive Assistant also appreciated His Excellency, the Governor, Elder Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for continually bringing to bear the dividends of democracy to all Deltans through his MORE Agenda mantra. He described this as the hallmark of democracy, noting that the core value of Nigeria’s independence is rooted in democracy and good governance — virtues which Governor Oborevwori has demonstrated immensely in the state.

According to him: “Our Governor's achievements so far in all sectors are seeable and touchable.”

Sir Jossy prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the nation and its leaders, expressing optimism that with unity of purpose, Nigeria will achieve her full potential..
