Engr. Donald Igudia Picks APC Nomination Form, Targets Ika Federal Constituency Seat


…pledges people-focused representation

Grassroots mobiliser and Chieftain of the APC in Ika South LGA, Engr. Donald Igudia has officially obtained the nomination form to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Ika Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling his entry into the race ahead of the forthcoming party primaries.

Igudia, a trained engineer and graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, brings a blend of technical expertise and grassroots political experience to his aspiration. He was a key member of the Emmanuel Uduaghan administration, where he was actively involved in governance and youth-focused initiatives.

A committed party man, Igudia has consistently played key roles within the APC structure since 2016. 
He was a contender for the position of APC South-South Zonal Youth Leader during both the 2018 and 2022 National Conventions, demonstrating his longstanding involvement in youth mobilisation and party development.

During the 2023 general elections, he served as Assistant Director of Youth Mobilisation in the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, contributing to nationwide grassroots engagement efforts that bolstered youth participation in the electoral process.

Speaking on his ambition, Igudia emphasised his readiness to provide effective and inclusive representation for the people of Ika Federal Constituency. He pledged to champion policies and initiatives that address the needs of constituents, with a strong focus on empowerment, infrastructure development, and human capital growth.
“I am committed to delivering representation with a human face—one that listens, understands, and responds to the needs of our people,” he stated.

His declaration has begun to generate conversations within party circles and among constituents, as stakeholders assess the credentials of aspirants ahead of the APC primaries.

Political observers note that Igudia’s mix of administrative experience, youth engagement, and loyalty to party structures may position him as a strong contender in the race for the party’s ticket.

Further developments are expected as the APC prepares to screen aspirants and conduct its primaries in the coming weeks.
