Barr. Anthony Nsugbe Declares for House of Assembly, Set to Consult Ward and LGA Leadership

Asaba-born businessman and real estate mogul, Barrister Anthony Nsugbe is set to formally declare his intention to contest for the Oshimili South Constituency seat in the Delta State State House of Assembly, marking a decisive step in his political ambition.

Nsugbe, who obtained his nomination and expression of interest forms on May 1, 2026, is now set to make a public announcement of his aspiration.

His declaration follows a series of strategic consultations with key leaders and party officials across the constituency, held through private engagements in recent weeks.

According to sources within his camp, the consultations have positioned him strongly within the race, with growing support among stakeholders. Nsugbe is widely seen as preparing to assert himself as a leading contender for the seat.
As part of formalising his bid within the party structure, he is scheduled to visit his Ward and Local Government Area (LGA) executives today to officially notify them of his intention to run. 
The move is in line with established political processes and underscores his commitment to party protocol and grassroots engagement.

Speaking ahead of the visits, Nsugbe reaffirmed his readiness to serve and his determination to provide effective representation for the people of Oshimili South.
His declaration is expected to further energise the political atmosphere in the constituency as activities ahead of the elections continue to gather momentum.
