Akhere Family Raises Alarm Over Threats, Harassment by Umukoro Unukpia.

The Akhere family has raised serious concerns over what it described as persistent threats, intimidation, and harassment allegedly perpetrated by one Mr. Umukoro Unukpia, calling on the general public to intervene before the situation degenerates.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Miss Grace Akhere said the alleged harassment stems from Mr. Unukpia's repeated demands for information regarding the whereabouts of Ms. Glory Uyoyo Oghogho, a former university colleague and friend of her sister, Elizabeth Akhere.

She said "Mr Umukoro Unukpia has persistently harassed my sister Elizabeth Akhere, regarding a certain Ms Glory Uyoyo Oghogho, a former university friend of my sister, who Mr. Umukoro alleges to be having intimate relationship with my sister".

According to Grace, although Elizabeth and Glory were friends during their university years, they have long since lost contact, and neither Elizabeth nor any member of the Akhere family knows Glory's present location or has any means of reaching her.

She alleged that despite several explanations to this effect, Mr. Unukpia has continued to issue threats and send intimidating messages to members of the family, creating an atmosphere of fear and emotional distress.

Grace also said the family decided to make the matter public after exhausting every peaceful effort to convince Mr. Unukpia that they genuinely possess no information about Glory's whereabouts.

"Our family has remained truthful from the very beginning. Elizabeth and Glory attended university together and were friends at the time, but after school they went their separate ways. We do not know where Glory currently resides, we do not have her contact details, and we have absolutely no means of reaching her.

"Despite explaining this repeatedly, Mr. Umukoro Unukpia has continued to send threatening and intimidating messages to my sister and other members of our family. These actions have caused us immense psychological trauma and emotional distress. We now live in constant fear, uncertain of what may happen next if these threats continue.

"We have never hidden any information from anyone, neither have we attempted to obstruct any legitimate search for Glory. The simple truth is that we cannot provide information that we do not possess. It is painful that our honesty has been met with intimidation rather than understanding.

"Our family has done nothing to deserve this level of harassment. Every day we worry about our safety because the threats have persisted despite our repeated explanations. We believe every Nigerian deserves to live without fear of intimidation simply because they cannot provide information they genuinely do not have."

Grace appealed directly to Mr. Umukoro Unukpia to discontinue every form of harassment and intimidation against the family, insisting that continued threats would serve no useful purpose.

"We respectfully appeal to Mr. Umukoro Unukpia to immediately stop every act of harassment, intimidation and threats directed at members of our family. We ask him to accept our position in good faith and understand that we cannot produce information that is not within our knowledge.

"Our desire is simple: to live peacefully, carry on with our daily lives, and be free from fear. No family should have to endure intimidation over circumstances completely beyond their control."

She appealed to the public to take notice of the family's concerns and called on well-meaning Nigerians to condemn every form of harassment and intimidation, stressing that disputes should always be resolved within the confines of the civility.
