Delta APC: Omo-Agege Is The Clear Leader - Dr Leroy Edozien.
(by Ikechukwu Chukwudi)
As reactions continue to trail the letter by the Honorable Minister of (State) Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, to the State Caretaker Committee Chairman Prophet Jonea Erue, leaders from the party in the state have not shied away from giving views the would clarify views, with the aim of dousinh thebtension in the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC.
2019 gubernatorial aspirant and Academic Chief (Dr) Leroy Chuma Edozien in an article which is trending across APC Social Media Platforms in the state, expressed adjusted views to that of the Minister.
The Asaba born UK trained multidisciplinary personality in his memo titled "LEADERSHIP OF APC IN DELTA STATE" emphasized salient observations, even as he attempted to balance the strong views on the leadership of the party in the state, where Minister Keyamo has insisted that there was no unified leader.
In his write-up, Dr Edozien (Ubili Kan Ku Ababa) while agreeing that leaders in the party had yet to agree and congregate under one recognized leader, however differed by stating that conventional events had succeeded in producing one clear leader, in the person of the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, who by virtue of his position as the 6th in the line of succession in the country, holds forth as Delta APC Leader.
He further calles on party chieftains to always maintain a disposition that allows for dialogue.

LEADERSHIP OF APC IN DELTA STATE.
Honourable Minister of State Festus Keyamo stated that: 'The evolution of APC in Delta State is unique to the extent that a clear Party leader has not emerged under whom everyone has agreed to congregate.'
It is incorrect to say that there isn't a clear leader. I concede, however, that not everyone has agreed to congregate under the leader. The Deputy Senate President is from Delta State. By virtue of his being number 5 in the national heirarchy of political post holders, he automatically becomes the 'clear' leader of the party in Delta State.
To argue otherwise would be to disrespect the office of the DSP, disregard convention, and introduce unnecessary rancour in the polity.
It would be unnatural for everyone to love the person of the DSP, but all party faithful must respect the office of DSP. In the same manner, not everyone may love the person of the HMoS but all must respect his office.
There is enough room to accommodate all interests in the party, even interests that may initally appear to be diametrically opposed. A smart leader would seek to bring all party members together. This is a challenging task, and it is made much more challenging when the conventional primacy of the leader is not accepted. As I have said repeatedly to party members in my LGA, we don't have to work in unison but we must work in harmony. This counsel certainly applies to the working relationship between the DSP and the HMoS.
Dr Edozien is not alone in this line of thought on th leadership of the party in the state, as Founding leader and 2015 gubernatorial candidate of the party Olorogun Otega Emerhor has shared similar views, while also urging for the involvement of all Deta APC Leaders to come together.
