Take Part In The INEC CVR To Exercise Your Franchise, Ebegba urges Deltans, Nigerians.
As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) resumes the much talked about nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, Director General of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA); Dr Rufus E. Ebegba, has urged eligible voters in Delta state and across the country to come out enmasse to get captured to vote at the coming elections in 2023.
Dr Ebegba, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress made this call on Tuesday, Jun 29, 2021 in a statement made available to the media.
He said " Yesterday, the 28th of June 2021, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) made good on its word to begin registering eligible voters towards the 2023 general elections. This commendable move must be complemented by Nigerians of voting age, through availing themselves to be captured in the database, as well as getting their Permanent Voters Card PVC."
He went on to state that the right to vote is one that can't be taken away from anyone who has fulfilled requirements by the electoral body, and that if genuine development was to birth in a society, it would be through voting credible individuals into office.
He concluded "we can't complain of not being part of governance or not getting enough from the system when we shy away from electoral exercises, therefore I urge Deltans and Nigerians to take time off their busy schedules for livelihood, to register to vote because its our ticket to a functioning and responsive system.
Our vote is our power".
