OFONYE ASSURES PARTY MEMBERS OF MORE DEFECTIONS INTO EZI APC
..... as Ezi witnesses another round of defection in 2 months
A prominent APC leader from ward 10 Ezi, Aniocha North LGA of Delta state, Comr. Nnamdi Ofonye has assured the teeming APC faithfuls in the ward that him and other leaders are in talks with prominent PDP members preparatory to their defections into APC.
Ofonye made the disclosure on Sunday in Ezi when he joined the Delta North caretaker committee Chairman, Prince Fred Mordi, Sir Mathew Chinye and other party leaders to receive some decampees led by Mr. Chukwuka Anthony Adah into Ezi APC.
The party chieftain noted that for APC to be able to win the ward come 2023, the party has to restrategise so as to become very attractive to many PDP members who are very fed up with the visible neglect of the community in the hands of successive PDP govts in the state hence the continuous defections.
He said, "few months ago, we received some strong members of the PDP in this ward. They have not recovered from it. Today, we are receiving another ones. Just wait and see after our LGA congress to witness the mother of all defections in this ward as I am in talk with a good number of them and we are in the finishing lines of the discussions. It will shake their base".
In his address, the Senatorial Chairman, Prince Fred Mordi expressed surprise at the level of neglect the community is suffering in the hands of PDP, querying the reason why the less than half kilometer Ezi/Olona road was ignored after tarring from Iseleuku to Olona and charged the people to take their destinies in their own hands by ensuring they work hard and deliver the ward 5/5 to APC come 2023.
Some Aniocha North LGA leaders who accompanied the Senatorial Chairman are Sir Mathew Chinye, Hon. Pius Anazia, Chief Oscar Juweh, Hon. Felix Ekeh, the Senior Legislative Aide to the DSP, Friday Omesiete and Hon. Elvis Ikenwa among others.
The highpoint of the ceremony was the handing over of the symbol of APC, the broom to the decampees.
