APC Chieftain Chides Delta Speaker Over Poor State of Primary and Secondary Schools.
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Delta State, Comr. Austine Kpedi has called out the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori over the poor conditions of primary and secondary schools in the State.
Austine Kpedi, a one time Councillorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Udu made the call through his Facebook page on 15th January, 2021 faulting the deplorable state of social infrastructures in Delta on the " Servile and barren state of the Delta State House of Assembly under the leadership of Oborevwori".
Part of the statement reads; "The effects of maladministration and impunity manifested last week on DRTV where the Commissioner for basic and secondary Education who was screened and recommended by DTHA for appointment could not explain in plain terms an action plan of the Delta State ministry of basic and secondary school.
That incident revealed not just the executive deficiency in Delta State Government but the languishing legislative duties in the State where Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is the Speaker".
Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, a 2023 Guber Aspirant, was accused of "giving a nod to the creation of three additional state universities without considering the current conditions of primary and secondary schools in the State. Why should we build more universities when our pupils/students are not having common desks in their respective deplorable schools to learn and seat for exams that would give them platforms to gain admission into their choice tertiary institution of learning".
The one time publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress in Udu also questioned the leadership credentials of the Speaker, saying "the Speaker position in the state House of Assembly is met to provide quality leadership for the interest of the State. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori had failed in providing quality leadership to Deltans and as such he can not be trusted by his party talk more of becoming the state governor come 2023".
The statement drew public attention to the dilapidated conditions of Emadaja primary School, Emadaja and Egini Grammar School, Egini both in Udu Local Government area of the State.
