EASTER IS ABOUT LOVE AND SACRIFICE, EXEMPLIFY IT – EBEGBA.
The Immediate-past Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA) and Chairman Police Community Relations Committee PCRC FCT Command, Olorogun Dr Rufus Ebegba KSJI, has explained that the Easter Celebration is a lesson on love and sacrifice, urging Deltans and Nigerians to exemplify same in the walk towards the development and stability if the nation.
He made these comments and more in a statement to commemorate the 2024 Easter Celebration, made from Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Dr Ebegba who chairs the Rufus Ebegba Centre for Leadership And Environmental Sustainability, began by felicitating with Christians, and emphasizing the essence of it.
He said ‘ I join Christians and millions of Nigerians around the world in commemorating the 2024 Easter Celebrations. On behalf of my supporters, foundation volunteers and the board, I send cheers and goodwill as we celebrate the Death and Resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, whom we believe was a sacrifice for humanity’s salvation.
As a Christian, the Easter season marks one of the most pious and sober periods of Christianity and the essence of it is to explain the love and sacrifice, exemplified by Christ.
Speaking further, Dr Ebegba, a Knight of the Catholic Church (St John), spoke on the lessons in the act of love and sacrifice, urging Deltans and Nigerians to nurture a willingness to offer same for their development.
“The lesson of love and sacrifice remains one that we all can learn from and exemplify, because the continued development of our state and nation is largely dependent on how much we are willing to express love and sacrifice.
Patriotism and nationalism required huge commitments of love and sacrifice, whereby we are willing to take necessary action towards preserving the sanctity of order and development.
In conclusion he said “ As we celebrate, we must bear in mind the burden of those who are not so fortunate materially and emotionally, by extending a hand of succour and relief, just as Christ taught us to.”
