DSIEC MUST NOT ALLOW ITSELF TO BE USED/COMPROMISED – PROMISE OGUMU
The Chairman of the APC Ika North-East Campaign Council for the Delta State Local Government Elections and Chief Executive Officer of Prodan Global Consolidated Properties Limited; Mr Promise Ogumu has insisted that the party had what it takes to bring change and effect good governance in the LGA, calling on DSIEC to be alive tonits responsibilities, and urging voters to support and vote the party’s candidates at the July 13 Elections.
This was made known via a release signed by the Director of Publicity of the campaign council.
Speaking in a meeting held at his residence where he hosted a joint session of the expanded campaign council, the Owa-Alero-born former Aide to the Delta State government expressed his pleasure and satisfaction at the availability of candidates in the party for the election, despite the moves by the ruling PDP to make the contest a one-sided affair.
Speaking further, Mr Ogumu said, “ A lot of persons say that this is a state election, and therefore the PDP will have a field day, however, I want to assure you that as long as we do our part by engaging the electorate, reaching out to every man, woman, youth and even our young girls who can vote, our votes will count”.
Present at the meeting alongside Mr Ogumu were the APC Chairmanship candidate Pastor Ehiyem Andrew and his Vice Mr Samson Ifeanyi, councillorship candidates, as well as the Director-General of the Campaign Council Pastor Oliver Ikechukwu, Deputy Director-General Honorable Charles Ijeoma Asiwe, Secretary of the Council Pastor Ossai Williams, and Director of Media And Publicity Comrade Ikechukwu Chukwudi-Abiandu.
Continuing, the Chairman of the campaign council Mr Promise Ogumu expressed his trust in the Chairmanship candidate stating that he was well-equipped with the ideas to ensure stability and growth at the Council.
He said “ The Chairmanship candidate of the party Mr Ehiyem Andrew is a man that can be trusted for his integrity, and his background as a Pastor will make sure the issue of corruption is properly handled, as well as ensure stability.
Together with his very youthful and sound Vice-Chairman, Mr Samson Ifeanyi, and our councillors, we will bring change and show that a New Ika North East is possible ”.
He further assured the party’s candidates of the campaign council’s readiness to engage the party’s leaders for support, as well as the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC), security and law enforcement agencies towards securing the votes of the party, while urging all members of the party to rally round for victory come July 13, 2024.
“ As candidates, I assure you of my supporters and my commitment towards ensuring that other leaders of the party in the local government will throw in their support. I have spoken with many of them, and they are already willing. In terms of security and securing our votes, the campaign council will make sure that all relevant agencies will be put under pressure and our votes will not be stolen or denied.

" The electoral commission in charge will be engaged and monitored, and the APC must get the assurance that our votes will not be stolen as was the case in previous elections.
Ika North-East citizens will know about our preparedness to bring new and good things to them”, Mr Ogumu concluded.
