GMOs: RUFUS EBEGBA CENTRE ORGANISES ENLIGHTENMENT SESSION.
As issues concerning the introduction, development and acceptance of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) continue to garner attention and reactions from industry players and the general public, Abuja-based Nongovernmental organisation The Rufus Ebegba Centre for Leadership and Environmental Sustainability, has also continued efforts to throw more light on the topic.
The NGO, which was founded by top biosafety, environmental science expert and pioneer Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency NBMA (2015 - 2023), Dr Rufus Ebegba KSJI, has announced its upcoming seminar with the topic:
"Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs): Modern Biotechnology, Biosafety, and Fears.
In its statement signed by Comrade Happy Igho Umukoro, the foundation announced the 29th of January 2025, at 4:30 PM WAT as the date and time for the event respectively.
The seminar is being organised to address critical issues bordering on the fears, misconceptions and intentions behind the introduction of GMOs as well as, to understand the role of biosafety in ensuring safe GMO adoption.
The event will take place at Rimhills Hotel, Jikwoyi, with provision for virtual attendance via designated online and social media channels which are accessible via the website of the foundation at www.rufusebegbacentre.ng and on Facebook.
