Delta at 35: Teddy-Jackson Ngwokor Celebrates Delta State, Commends Oborevwori, Past Governors


The 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Delta State House of Assembly, Ika North-East Constituency II, Engr. Teddy-Jackson Ngwokor, has congratulated Deltans on the 35th anniversary of the creation of Delta State, describing the state as a remarkable product of resilience, unity, and collective aspiration.

In a goodwill message commemorating the anniversary, Ngwokor said the creation of Delta State on August 27, 1991, marked the beginning of a new chapter for the people of the state and provided a platform for generations of Deltans to contribute to its growth and development. 

He particularly commended the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his leadership and efforts toward sustaining development, peace, and inclusive governance across the state.

According to him, the anniversary is not only an occasion for celebration but also an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far and renew the collective commitment to building a stronger Delta.

Ngwokor also acknowledged the contributions of past civilian governors, including Chief James Ibori, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, and Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, noting that each administration contributed in different ways to the evolution of the state. The current administration has itself acknowledged the foundations laid by its predecessors as part of the state's continuing development journey. 

He especially celebrated the immediate past governor – Dr Okowa’s administration, describing it as a memorable era that has ushered in the dynamic leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori JP, continuing the state's leadership history, and stressing that the progress recorded in Delta should be viewed as a cumulative effort rather than the achievement of any single administration.

“Delta State at 35 is a story of resilience, diversity, enterprise, and the determination of our people to build a better society. We honour those who have served the state and contributed to its growth, while recognising the responsibility of the present generation to take Delta to greater heights.”

Ngwokor called on Deltans, particularly young people, to remain committed to peace, unity, and productive engagement, stressing that the state's greatest asset remains its people.

He congratulated Governor Oborevwori and the people of Delta State on the milestone, praying for continued peace, prosperity, and sustainable development across the state.
